Set in Wisconsin, USA in the 1910s, it tells the story of an 11-year-old boy named Starling North and Rascal, a baby raccoon he rescued and raised.

While Rascal brings joy to Starling's daily life, he simultaneously faces the reality that humans and wild animals cannot live together due to his instinctive wild behavior.

This work beautifully portrays the dignity of life and responsibility through the process of Starling returning Rascal to nature.
