Collaboration History
Haenyeo are beings who make the Jeju sea the source of their lives. Although they throw themselves into the cold waters every day to continue their arduous diving, a curiosity about the world beyond the sea always resides in a corner of their hearts. Gazing at the endlessly stretching open ocean, they often imagine what kind of world lies beyond.
For her, the teawak is her only companion and source of support. In the water, it is like a lifeline, and on land, it is like a precious friend she always keeps close at hand. The teawak is not merely a tool; it is another body and identity that symbolizes the Haenyeo herself.
Sometimes, exhausted from the arduous work of diving, she clutches her teawak and sets off on a journey to the world beyond the sea. Flying through the clouds as if swimming and gliding over the wind, in moments of satisfying her curiosity, the haenyeo realizes once again where she belongs.
Ultimately, her footsteps always return to the Jeju sea. This is because the ocean is the haenyeo's hometown and stage of life, a place like a root that sustains her breath. A journey beyond the sea is not merely an escape, but a process of breaking free from a weary daily routine to recover and gain new strength. After refreshing herself in this way, she returns to the sea to continue her life.
There is an example of producing a 16cm tall doll merchandise using a character, and a 32*45 piece was made using felt and embroidery.
