The background of Mongpu's creation is...

I created this when I was in the first year of middle school because I wanted to make an original character for a slice-of-life webtoon.

My nickname and character Mungpu's full name was *Dazed Pudding Cat*, and the meaning of the name is that I have so many thoughts that I always space out, so people said I space out a lot. Also, I wanted to be always sweet, bouncy, and soft, just like the pudding I like.

I added it. Actually, "gonyangi" was originally a word used to refer to a cat in a cute way, but because cat characters were too common, fur was added to the tips of the ears a few days later to transform it into a lynx; consequently, the meaning changed to "gonyangi" because it is no longer a cat.

Additionally, the design was inspired by a square devil from the angel and devil paper dolls I previously made in a notebook; it is a mischievous devil with a timid and kind personality.

That is how a character suitable for the name was created, but when I told my friends about it later, many reacted by saying the name was too long, and since everyone shortened it to Mungpu, I started using Mungpu.

And as time passed, trends changed and my skills grew, I reduced the proportions from a 6-head-tall Mongpu to a cute 2-head-tall version. However, recently, it has become too complex and unfriendly to use as an emoticon, so

I changed the beard and ear tips to be round like a heart shape.

As we have been together for a long time, Mungpu is my original character, my other identity, and my alter ego.

However, anyone can act like Mungpu, and

Everyone who likes the character Mungpu can become Mungpu.
